Live in Care
Helping you live the life you want, on your own terms is what is important to us. Our live in care service enables you to have a routine that suits you, with no compromises. By getting to know your preferences and habits, we will put a unique package of support in place with carefully chosen personal assistants who suit you. Together, we can help you stay comfortable in the home you know and love.
As your assistant would be living in your home with you, the flexibility this service allows becomes a favourable alternative to receiving visiting care at set times of the day or moving out of your home. Typically, you would have a team of two carers who share the responsibility – alternating over a two, or three-week rotation period.
Our passion is caring for others and our personal assistants are overseen by our experienced local care managers. They ensure you are matched with suitable live-in carers and check-in regularly with you and your family to make sure everything is running smoothly.
Check in / Telephone Support
A regular telephone call to remedy feelings of loneliness and check on health and wellness. Usually organised by busy or remote family members, our check-in service is often used as a prompt to alert them of changes with their loved one, or for us to arrange a carer or health professional to visit.
Promoting independence while living at home, our check in service offers daily or weekly telephone calls from one of our care managers to ensure all is well. The regular calls build a relationship and are used for health and wellbeing monitoring and appointment reminder purposes. Often, our chats are simple friendly check-ins but can also result in further intervention if needed.
For some older people living alone, preparing healthy and nutritious meals becomes a more of a chore and can often be replaced by more convenient, less heathy options. Eating grows to be less of a priority and health can suffer as a result.
Due to no fault of their own, older couples with mobility or physical difficulties can find they stop shopping healthily, and a once balanced diet can deteriorate quickly.
Our meal preparation service varies client by client. We’ve found supporting you in planning, shopping and cooking meals is great for maintaining independence and encourages a healthier diet. Whatever level of support we agree on, having company while you eat, and promoting companionship and conversation is something we will always try to include.
Transport and Support Services
Our accompanied transportation and companion driving services is for anyone who is unable to get from A to B alone. Offering you independence and peace of mind, enabling you to get out, have fun, and add some zing into your everyday living. From assisting you with local public transport, through to delivering you safely by car to a family meal, we have it covered.
Our special service also provides assistance in and out of the vehicle, going to appointments, shopping and company on outings. Special needs can be catered for including assistance with a walker or wheelchair.
Transportation is often incorporated as part of our companionship service and can add that extra bit of freedom, helping you to live your life to the fullest.
Keeping our home environment clean and clutter free can get harder as we grow older. Our range of cleaning services can vary depending on your needs. From weekly help with the vacuuming and laundry through to deep Spring cleans, we can help.
Whether included as part of our other services or not, your assistant will always have the time to sit and have a drink and a chat with you. At Take Five Homecare, we look to prevent loneliness in all our clients. We provide a service that cares for you, and your well-being as an individual.
Our pets are part of the family. The worry of caring for them as we age can be overwhelming if we are becoming less mobile. Having the company of a pet in the home is beneficial to our wellbeing and should be held onto for as long as possible. Finding that you are starting to struggle to look after your pet’s needs should not be a problem if you have a little help.
